As you contemplate your advertising budget for 2008, consider using a part of it to help underwrite the Picnic. Your participation as an underwriter would be money well spent. It will give you quality, extended exposure to a group you want to reach. Your tax deductible contribution will help to protect our beautiful Leelanau Peninsula and could be one of the smartest business decisions you will make this year.

Why? Not only will you reach the 750-plus picnic attendees on the day of the event, you’ll also gain multiple exposures to thousands of people through our publications and website. This is a group well worth trying to attract. Last year over one-third of those who attended are part of our Sustainers Circle—donors who contribute a minimum of $500 to our cause annually. Associating your business with our organization is a way for you to show you care about Leelanau County and want to help protect it. Here is a way you can help do that and serve your own best interests at the same time. If you pledge now to help underwrite this event, we’ll recognize you on our website immediately. If you pledge before our spring newsletter is put to bed – as well as our summer newsletter, we’ll also recognize you in this publications which are mailed to over 4,000 people. It’s up to you: the sooner you commit, the more exposure you’ll receive.

On average our website is now receiving over 120,000 hits per month. The auction is conducted online for several months prior to the picnic and hundreds of people log on to view and bid on items. You will also receive recognition in our auction booklet that is mailed to over 4,000 people and on posters displayed all over Leelanau County.
